upcoming events
Apr. 9th, 2008 10:00 amSome upcoming events at the Casa Chaos Hermitage -- do c'mon by, we'd love to see ya, and these events coming up will be good, juicy work and also much big fun. Drop me a note or comment here if you'd like more information on any of these:

April 24-27: Musical Magickal Restorative: Exploring the Magic of Music and Dance, Song and Silence to Enter into a Dialogue with Divinity
Last year's event just totally rocked, and this year should be even better. Magickal work and play with song, chant, instrument, rhythm, movement, and much, much fun. Coming up fast! There are 3 spots left for last-minute attendees.
Full event announcement here
June 26-29: Feri Camp (FULL, new registration closed)
August 2: Ritual/Magickal Brewing and Vinting (tentative date)
One of the relatively rare Reclaiming events that is NOT alcohol-free. Just in time for Lammas (harvest of fruits and grains), Chelidon and Don will lead a hands-on workshop where we will be learning to create ritual mead, wine, ale, and other ritually charged and crafted natural sacraments (may also include ritual cakes/bread with Claudia Manifest) More details to follow.
October 16-19: Ritual/Theatrical Arts Restorative (tentative date)
Explore and work with the intersection of magick, theatre, ritual, and sacred drama. Morgana from Tejas and Robin Dolan from California, two long-time professional theatre directors and priestesses, along with Chelidon and Claudia Manifest, will facilitate a deeply-woven experiential exploration of the art, craft, and devotion of ritual theatrics and sacred drama. Most good rituals involve good theatre, and most if not all rituals could be more successful with increased skills, attention and focus upon the magickal-theatrical arts and aspects. This Restorative event will be of interest to anyone who desires to build and create effective, deeply-moving rituals or expand their own ritual arts tech and skills, as well as those involved in theatrical or performing arts in any capacity, but it is not necessary to be a "theatre person" to gain full benefit from the workshop.

Date: 2008-04-10 03:04 pm (UTC)The ritual brewing class is so far scheduled to be a one-day hands-on workshop, so significantly lower in cost, though there will probably be some kind of small materials fee (honey, grain, etc).
I'll post more specifics here when I have 'em.

Date: 2008-04-09 10:43 pm (UTC)My last final exam is Saturday May 10, so I'm free after that. I've got friends visiting on May 19th, then I'm going to WY to help with my Grandma from May 22-28. After that, I'm free until I start clinicals on July 7. After that, I'll be heads down in my rotations for a solid year.
Can you work with that? :)

Date: 2008-04-21 07:39 pm (UTC)Maybe we could just pop up for a visit sometime, bardic or not? I contacted DHMC recently to ask about job shadowing in the lab, in anticipation of me having a resume to send out before too long, so I may get a tour or something up there in May or June.

Date: 2008-04-09 10:32 pm (UTC)So we haven't see youse guys in a bit and your collective Yule prezzies are gathering dust up here in the quarry house and I'm thinking that this weekend might be a good time to deliver them if amenable to you. I've got Sunday off and Susie has Monday off, so we actually have a little free time. Tomorrow is our anniversary, 9 years legal plus 10 years in sin, so we are in the mood to sip a bit of whiskey, crack a few bottles of wine, and do damn little else, preferably in the company of those we hold dear.
Do you remember the barn where we had the reception? It looks like Nick bought a farmhouse up in PA somewhere and that Terri and Thomas will be selling the farm in Frederick and moving to the new place. It's sad, we really had some awesome times there, and the bardic in the barn after the wedding was one to remember. But now that Nick has passed on, maybe it's for the best - there's a lot of pain in the old memories.
At any rate, let me know how things are looking for this weekend and we'll plan from there.
And you, Amy, grab that Brian when he returns and drag him northward. Sounds like he needs friends around and we all need some Amy Time (tm). You too, Beth! And Holly!
