I like the fact that the regional paper has a story about a local dowser (who just died) on the front page today. My favorite bit: "Jenks died Feb. 8 at home in Lyme, the town where he had spent most of his life. He was 75. He didn't go to dowser's conventions and wouldn’t hang out with New Age types. If dowsing is a magical art, Yankees like Jenks took it as a practical one, too. “He was one for survival,'’ said his son, Christopher."

That seems to be how most folks around here look at the magickal and mystical. It's not a moral issue, rather, does it help you do something practical? Great, all for it, so long as it works. That pretty much seems to be the prevailing view about organized religion as well, which may explain why New Hampshire supposedly has the lowest per capita rate of regular church attendance in the nation.

Chop wood, carry water. Speaking of which, it's about time to go bring in some more wood.

I've posted a huge bunch of pics I took at Hamilton Pool, near Austin, a few weeks back (with a few sunset shots at the end, taken over Lake Travis from what's left of the old Oasis restaurant). I've got enough going on that I just posted them all instead of picking out the best, so there's a lot to wade through, but with the late afternoon light throwing shadows and reflections...I'm really happy with a number of them. If any place could be callled "photogenic," Hamilton Pool certainly was that day.

All the pics are here: http://www.casachaos.net/Hamilton_Pool-2006

Here are a few of my favorites.

For those who have been following the de/construction of Casa Chaos, some pics of a new room addition, starting here (and the next several pictures thereafter). This bit will be my office, another new guest space (sleeping 4), and a root/wine cellar. It's way behind schedule, but what else is new in the world of construction and renovation?

And since 'tis the season (at last, we got a foot of snow over the weekend to play in!), the view from Mt. Sunapee, my skier boi, and two wicked ski dudes.

I'll start this post with photographic proof positive that our house is full of trixy fey. See?! I swear, they sneak up on you when you least expect it...
