happy birthday to me
Mar. 10th, 2005 02:15 amOkay, this has been one of the more bizarre starts to a new natal year I can remember, wonder what it augurs about the year to come. Come 10pm tonight, I shall officially be another year closer to venerable curmudgeonhood.
On another note, you know you've been flying rather a lot when your airline sends you a birthday card. Southwest Air (I *love* them) sent me a cool 3-D card with the nifty 3-D glasses.
But I can't complain a bit -- life is very, very good, if not simple, and I have four consecutive nights of birthday-related mayhem planned with friends and family. Saturday night I get to wear a whole bunch of peacock feathers! (no, I'm not going to explain that)
I've always figured getting older is what happens to you if you're lucky. May we all be so lucky.
Yours in aging well,
--Chelidon

Date: 2005-03-10 04:24 pm (UTC)Thanks for the wishes, and for the compliment -- I figure True Curmudgeonhood is a Life's Work and Art. Too young, or too little practice, and ya just come off as cranky and mean. Oh, wait...
See y'all soon! It's looking like Feather's flying in for the bardic, too -- you remember him, right? Woo hoo, gonna be a rockin' time :>

Date: 2005-03-10 04:29 pm (UTC)Woo hoo about the bardic, the more the merrier! I remember Feather. Vaguely. Playing pool in the Hermitage house, I think.

Date: 2005-03-10 05:06 pm (UTC)Yeah, Feather is the amazingly talented guitarist/singer/blacksmith/microwave engineer, kinda scruffy-looking, sweet guy, new daddy, too!
Aww...

Date: 2005-03-11 11:11 pm (UTC)Fine, Amy. For the incriminating lasciviousness, I can wait.
But not too long... ;>
