Living Earth Gatherings is bringing author Richard Heinberg to
Portland for a series of events addressing the issues and challenges
of creating a post-carbon future.

Author of "The Party's Over" and "Powerdown: Options and Actions for a
Post-Carbon World," Heinberg will present clear data about declining
global fuel resources, and explore the choices and actions available
to cities and individuals for addressing the end of cheap, abundant
fossil fuels. Details are at www.livingearthgatherings.org

Converging factors (climate change, economic instability, and peak
oil, among others) make the need for frank attention to transitional
strategies for our communities and our state crucial in order to
develop cooperative, creative models for our future. Understanding
the issues and working in community are key to developing creative,
forward-looking responses.
