I just wrote this as a comment to another post, figured I'd repost it here for anyone who might be interested. More info to follow as the details get hammered out over the next month or so. Spaces are already starting to fill up by word of mouth, though, so anyone who's really interested, drop me a note and I'll make sure you get on the top of the list.

Spring Ritual Arts Camp (catchy title TBD)
location: Casa Chaos Hermitage, west-central New Hampshire
nearest airports: Manchester, NH (1 hour), Boston (2 hr), Albany NY, Burlington VT

We'll have a website and materials out in early December, but the dates are April 20-23, and it's a Restorative -- a body-friendly pace, plenty of time to integrate the work, arranged so that all attendees (and teachers) can take all of the path sessions if they wish, option of sleeping in late if desired (there are optional offerings earlier, but paths start at 10am), delicious gourmet food (by Claudia and Paul) as a feast for the senses, relaxed late-night bardic circles/jams, etc. In other words, something that you come out of refreshed and recharged, not exhausted and needing to recover from ;>

This first one's going to focus on skills of rhythm, voice, instrument and movement. The general theme so far (paraphrased) is "calling in the Spring with our art" and "celebrating the Earth as she wakes into new life" (this will be on Earth Day weekend). Hopefully, all of our juicy creative sap will be rising strong, warm and sweet by that time :> We're bringing in Willow Kelly and Crow (she's one of the best drummers in Reclaiming, he's an incredible instrumentalist, they both do excellent vocal/choral work) to help with the instruction. Other teachers are myself, and Maria Rose is student teaching. We're still discussing paths, but so far, some of the path/session possibilities we've discussed include:

energy raising, movement and focusing through drum, voice, instruments and movement (including cone drumming)
chant writing and trance drumming
multi-voice sacred choral work as spellworking
non-verbal ritual skills
Dances of Universal Peace & meditations (with instrumental accompaniment)
development and use of improvisational skills (music, voice, movement, rhythm)

We're going to keep the cost low, sliding-scale, with the low end of the scale probably somewhere around $100. We're planning for 20-25 people maximum, including teachers and organizers, and nine of those slots are already full.

Facilities currently are the main house (two meeting rooms, sleeping space for 15-20, two kitchens, four bathrooms,2 fireplaces, greenhouse, hot tub), barn (sleeping space for 20, wood stove, composting toilet, hand-pump water, electricity/phone, meeting space), large open paddock/tenting/firecircle area. There are hiking trails, streams (a little cold for swimming in April, tho' ;>), and endless woods in all directions. The following year will see addition of cabins, yurts and a 4-season treehouse.

Will do, and it'll be great to see you there! Sorry, there have been enough replies today that I haven't had a chance to get replies out yet. Gosh, I think we're down to 7 or so spots left. I'm thinking we'll be on waitlist, for sure.
