Just got back from the late show of "Serenity" (yes, yes, I'm at least a week behind the times, it's been a busy week...)

Anyhow, very serious yum. No, not the best movie ever made, and I've some quibbles, but overall, it was a well-done adaptation of the series, within the limitations of a standard-length movie format and mass-market distribution desires. Thumbs up. All the Casa Chaos denizens have enjoyed it, and now that we've finally all seen it, we can *talk* about the #$%#$ thing.

No spoilers for any who haven't seen it yet, except this: if you want to hear the old, familiar theme music. stay until the end of the credits. A very Joss-like nod to the die-hard fans, I suspect.

Eh, 2am and now I have to finish an article. In a few hours I get up and go on a hike with my son and his first-grade class, which I am very much looking forward to, though I am hoping to fit a good solid nap in there sometime in the later afternoon. But life is good, no doubt about it.

I went to see it with my brother last weekend, but B still hasn't seen it. Which means I can't discuss it at home. Argh!

Oh they did have the original theme - if we'd waited long enough. that was a disappointment we'd had.

It didn't have the lyrics, but the music was there. I stayed for the whole credits in the hopes that we'd hear it.

We saw it night before last. We kept hearing there was a nod to Joss fans at the end, so we waited and waited. And after the credits there was just a snip of commentary which the theater cut off. So we're still not sure what the nod was. (I was expecting a Grr/Argh.)

Damn it! I stayed to the end of the credits, but the theater must've cut those off -- because we just got the soundtrack music, credits end, and that was that. Bastards. Hmph. Will have to see it at a different theater, then. (Not only one that's a bit closer than 10 miles away, hah, this is such a small city, but also one that doesn't serve food 'n wine while you eat, which is truly dangerous. Woot. Chocolate cake...)
