so it begins...
Jul. 1st, 2005 11:26 amAfter five and a half years of holding my breath and hoping against hope for a temporary hiatus in mortality, Bush gets his first Supreme Court vacancy to fill. And it's a doozy -- Sandra Day O'Connor. Her centrist voice will be sorely missed, especially when replaced with someone who is certain to be as much of a deeply conservative zealot as Bush can find and get away with. The Roe v Wade decision and basic abortion rights will likely before long be very much in question -- you know that the moment the court's composition changes, pro-life groups will immediate push test cases, hoping to get a new Supreme Court decision. But we all knew this was coming. Everyone thought the first to go would be Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, though. At this rate, Bush could end up filling as many as three or even four vacancies. Let's hope not, and if you pray, do so for the good health of the remaining Justices. More tough times ahead.

Date: 2005-07-02 03:44 am (UTC)Guess it's time to start spreading the "SFH" word around. People know from the time that they are 14 or younger that SEX CAUSES PREGNANCY. There are no accidents. If a woman isn't "trying" to get pregnant, she shouldn't. It should be a conscious thing. Oh wait, this is the general moronic populous we're talking about, isn't it?
Never mind.
