I keep meaning to post this-- Freecycle.org. It's a local, grassroots email-based network, a simple way to hook up people who have stuff they want to get rid of with people who are looking for something that they need. It reduces resource usage by recycling stuff instead of always having to manufacture new stuff every time. It's all absolutely free, and free is the best price there is. Check it out.
