This ain't good: Changes in Gulf Stream could chill Europe, and a similar story in the Sunday Times, Ireland faces big chill as ocean current slows
I've been keeping an eye on this for a number of years, ever since climate scientists started widely predicting that Gulf Stream disruptions could drastically affect the relatively temperate climates of the U.K, Ireland and northern Europe. I hope this is wrong, or some other wild card climactic factor we don't yet understand mitigates the shifts. In any case, one thing that is relatively certain is that we're all going to see more serious changes in local climates over the coming years as global warming causes an increasing amount of change across the globe.
