More detailed info on the pathwork I'm putting together for DreamRoads Camp in July/August this year. This one is unusual in that instead of co-teaching it with a partner, I'm doing it solo, along with whomever in the path feels called to help out with each piece. Co-creation, indeed.

Ecstatic Improvisation: Co-Creating Ritual Arts

Can you sense the magic in the moment? Can you hear in your soul the songs which must be sung, the voices which should be spoken, the tales which might be told, right here and right now, in this particular place and time? You will. In this path we will explore and practice the skills and crafts of the co-creative priest/ess, s/he who knows how to open deeply to divinity and to all the sources of information in the multiverse which surround us. From that place of deep knowing, we know we can do the right thing, at the right time, in the right manner.

We will learn to open to inspiration, connect to the moment, and manifest deep magic in the now. Through rhythm, drumming and dance, we will move and shape energy. We will walk in other realms using the tools of trance drumming, musical and rhythmic accompaniment, and storytelling. We will stretch our skills of voice, through projection, chants, songs, and vocal improvisation. And we will enact sacred drama, mumming and aspecting, bringing the stories of gods and men alive in the moment.

This path is open to all who feel called to the work, for a day, all week, or a part of the week. We ask that if at all possible, anyone who plans to come for any part of the week come for the first day as well.

Day 1: Opening to Inspiration, Connecting to the Moment, Manifesting Deep Magic in the Now
Day 2: Energy movement through rhythm, drumming, and dance
Day 3: Trance drumming and improvisational accompaniment, storytelling
Day 4: Voice, projection, chants, songs, choral improv
Day 5: Sacred drama, mumming, aspecting

Hey, what other festivals are you going to be at over the summer? The band I recently joined (and performed with for the first time at the Mid-Atlantic Pagan Alliance festival this weekend) are doing a bunch of festivals and pagan pride days as our "Northeast Tour", and we may be at Sirius Rising or Starwood.

Hmm, I dunno, probably not many. I've got three more week-long camp/intensive teaching committments over the summer/fall, and a number of other shorter classes, workshops and a long list of building and permaculture projects here at the Casa (http://www.mythosphere.com/). I keep wanting to get back to Starwood with the yurt, but it's unlikely that I'll be able to make it this year. I would love to see you guys play, though, I've enjoyed hearing about your musical exploits! I've been more into the drumming and Irish trad. scene lately, am studying Malinque rhythms, and hoping to make it out to the local seisun tomorrow night with my bodhran and maybe the guitar or banjo.

OK, hopefully we'll cross paths sometime. I think we are also at a pagan pride day in Massachusetts sometime in September and one in NYC in October.

Fer sure! Lemme know about the Mass. gig, okay? That's definitely close enough to make a day trip for, and I've got a 6-week space between teaching trips starting after Labor Day, so I may well be in the mood for a ramble.

Cool beans. That's only about 1 1/2 hours from me, and it's a couple of weeks after I get back from teaching at Vermont, possibly very doable. It would be great to see ya and hear the band.

Ya, I can't wait -- I'm thrilled by the willingness to experiment with the grid/schedule and teaching paradigms, etc, and I'm very curious to see how all of the experiments turns out, particularly having Forest there. And I so wish you could be there, too! The busy time will pass pretty quickly, tho', and you'll again be free to mosey about, with your M.D. in hand!

Hmm, it may be getting to be time for another "Silly Hat Day"...will have to wait until the world is quiet and unsuspecting, however... *shhhhhhh*

In the meantime, we're sending ya a care package in the form of a Lovely Housemate. Treat her well, and please send her back mens sana in corpore sano (well, as sound as her mind can be, donchaknow... *ducks*)

Speaking of a few Latin phrases, one for you which you might know well:

Medicus curat, natura sanat ("The physician treats, nature cures") :>

And one which you may want to keep in mind for future use:

Me oportet propter praeceptum te nocere ("I'm going to have to hurt you on principle")

*wicked Cheshire grin*

Hmmm, right as I started reading this, "Time is on my side" started playing. The time magic we did was one of my fav things from your path last year.

*lol* Good timing! The Time work ends up being a big part of whatever path I do, it's not like I can help it at this point ;> There will definitely be Time work involved in all three paths I'm working on over the rest of this year, and particularly at Tejas and DreamRoads -- specifically, the synchronicity aspect of being in the right time at the right place, doing what needs to be done in that moment. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at camp!
