$5?! I paid $14 for the CD! Still, I feel better knowing that some of the money from the CD goes to the artist, as opposed to iTunes which keeps all the money. (See latest PSA from Kid Rock.)

Yep, I did the same -- I do buy online and physical media both, but call me old-fashioned, I still prefer to buy and rip my own from CD, and best bet there seems to be buying at a concert or direct from an artist's website. I'm not sure what the artist split is for Amazon's music store.
