Yesterday I got the chance to listen to two new albums I picked up recently, and both of them blew my socks off, so I'll mention them here for my fellow music lovers. The first is the collaboration album between Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, "Raising Sand." It's not something either of them would have done alone, and it's got some surprising (in a very good way) tracks. If you like either of them, you'll probably like this. Maybe a lot.

The second is a band I heard on NPR, The Pimps of Joytime," with their first album, "High Steppin." The transcript from the NPR blurb is here, and it does a better job of trying to describe the group than I can. Suffice it to say this is one of the few albums I've heard recently where I love every single track. Loki & 'Lex, you two will *love* this, trust me.
New music. Yum.
