Here's the description for the path I'll be co-teaching in February at Winter Camp I'm particularly excited about this one -- it's very, very juicy work.

-------
Sounds of Devotion: Rhythm, music and song in service to the gods and community
co-taught by Chelidon and Matt

Imagine a group of people devoted to drumming, singing, storytelling, playing, creating and strengthening the work of the week through their hands, their voices, their instruments -- a gentle outpouring of creative offerings and gifts from the heart, from the moment the opening circle is cast until the moment the closing circle opens. The major work of this path will be a camp-long ritual of devotion -- a deep, immersive dedication to the work of the week, to Freya and Od, and to each other.

Parts of the pathwork will be spent in hands-on classes and skill sharing. Time will be given to the creation of rhythms, chants, stories, prayers, poems and songs, to group practice, and for personal practice. The entire path and each individual member in it will dedicate to be available whenever needed, to help support the work of the week, for evening rituals, and for the other paths. Individually or as a group, we may be called upon to cone drum, trance drum, sing, move, play, chant. But in what may be even deeper, more central work, all those in this path will, individually, as a group, and perhaps along with others not in the path, hold and anchor a constant ebb, flow and undercurrent of music, of rhythm, of words and tales and sounds, creating throughout camp a continuous ritual of drumming, singing, sharing, all hours of the day and night, filling the space with magickal music, stories and rhythm. This is not a performance, not something loud or intrusive or demanding an audience's rapt attention, or which will interfere with the normal rhythms of camp life -- eating, socializing, and other uses of camp spaces. But, perhaps somewhere back in the corner of the dining hall, or sitting in front of a hearthfire, one or more of us may just be there, quietly providing a context, a supportive, subtle and continual energetic background, a subtext of rhythm, song, chants, quiet toning. Together we will create a continuous energetic spell, a long, moving prayer of sound, a living temple of love and devotion, which we will build and share and fill throughout the days and nights with our heartfelt offerings -- to the gods, to community, and to each other.

If you are called to this work, we invite you to join us in creating the sounds of devotion. You need not consider yourself a poet, singer, storyteller, drummer or musician to participate in this path -- all you truly need is your desire to create as an act of devotion. In addition, please bring whichever tools of sound, rhythm or music you wish to use or share, along with your journal, writing utensils, and an open heart.
