thankfulness
Nov. 22nd, 2006 09:44 amMy partner just called and asked me to give our son an extra hug and snuggle this morning. One of her patients today is a little boy who was hit by a car and very severely injured. My partner had just come from discussing the prognosis with the parents, who in the end made the incredibly difficult choice to let their son go. Hell of a way to go into Thanksgiving, but of course there's never any good time for such a thing.

Yet again comes the message to be thankful for each and every person you care about in your life, whenever you can.
I am grateful and thankful for you in my life, and my life is so much richer for knowing you. The world is a better place for your presence here, in this place at this time. Thank you.

Date: 2006-11-23 02:06 am (UTC)It is so incredible that we go thru our lives as if it will *never* be us having to face a reality so brutal. But it could be any of us, any day.
Life is overwhelmingly precious, and our loved ones so precious as well.
May the God and the Goddess hold those folks' hearts in the palm of their hands, and may they find the courage tomorrow morning to wake up and simply draw breath.
May their child find loved ones waiting to welcome him on the other side of the veil.
