Rain, rain, rain, thunderstorms and torrential downpours, the bowling alley of the gods open for business overhead, as the strikes, spares and gutter balls echo off the hills and mountains which shelter our little valley. The wind and rain vigorously entice the remaining leaves from the trees, as the season of long nights, evergreens and bare-branched trees comes again. Another month or two down the line, and this storm would be a monumental snowfall, a foot or more of fluffy white snow, suitable for scooping off the back deck and mixing up a good batch of snow margaritas.

Aside from the walls of water falling outside, I'm back underwater myself, writing two big articles due early next week, preparing for an all-day show rehersal tomorrow, and a full day out on the land Sunday, weather permitting, with a landscaper friend of ours who's volunteered to help get things in order here before Winter. Sure it is, the soil will be nice and soft and moist, anyway.

A close lightning strike reminds me that it's a good time to make sure I know where the kerosene lamps and candles are. Speaking of which, if you live in an area (like this one) where 7-day candles are in short supply, try http://www.mexgrocer.com They have the best price for shipped candles I've found so far, in all the necessary colors...

A lovely late autumn weekend to you all!
