In the interest of making more sick good clean fun in my and other's lives, I just ordered replacements for some old John Waters movies (Pink Flamingos, Desperate Living, Female Trouble, Polyester) I've long since worn out or loan-lost (what happens when you loan something and never get it back...), along with some other stuff for my son (who is *not* ready for John Waters, whom I've seen break mature adults), and a silly old Steve Martin flick ("Man With Two Brains"). If you're in the States, and looking for older movies, check out deepdiscountdvd.com. I haven't received the order yet, so can't comment about service, but their prices (in this case, between $5-$10 per DVD, shipped) are about the best I've seen.

heh. I suppose I should put "mature" in quotes, thusly. I was first and foremost thinking of that friend of Roth's who, at my D.C. bachelor party, after falling asleep in the wee hours halfway through Dr. Marc's John Waters film festival, suddenly bolted upright about 7am on Sunday morning, rooting frantically around for a Yellow Pages directory, looking for a church, muttering, "I gotta go to Mass, I gotta go to Mass!" and then rushing off to the first open church he found.

I think we broke him. Never saw him again, in fact... ;>
