thank you, and good news
Jun. 30th, 2006 06:31 pmI am so very grateful for all of you who have sent well-wishes and thoughts for Forest and Claudia. With all that is going on right now, I may not be able to set aside the time to thank you all individually as I would prefer, but I am truly thankful for your kindness, and I'm passing your words and wishes on to Claudia. Who, by the way, I was able to give a brief hug to today, and we sat at opposite ends of the table for a while for lunch, and had some chats at a safe range, which has gone from 8-10 feet when we first came home from the hospital Wednesday to 3-4 feet this afternoon. She's also getting less hypothyroid each day from the combination of Cytomel and Synthroid, so is feeling stronger and more like herself. Each day the measurable residual radioactivity is cut about in half, and at this rate, she should be able to safely hug our son by Monday. That's a real milestone. And I'm figuring we'll all be able to eat BBQ together on the 4th, another milestone. We're going to burn an abundance of good food on the BBQ and have a big fireworks show here on the 4th up in the paddock for family and friends -- I've got about 50 lbs of good stuff set aside: tubes, mortars, rockets, cakes, ground displays, etc, it should be pretty spectacular, if I can avoid pulling a "Michael Jackson" and setting myself on fire while running through the free-fire zone setting everything off (I'm not going to have time to set up an electric igniter board this year). Perhaps I can get someone to take some pics and post 'em here...
Have a splendid 4th!
And thank you all.
