This may well turn out to have a more mundane explanation, but for now, there's alien life on earth!. Well, okay, maybe. At least perhaps we finally know what Peter Gabriel's song "Red Rain" is really about.

I love the "explanation" about an incoming meteor shredding a flying school of bats. Uh, right...

I thought "Red Rain" was about nuclear fallout! But maybe you knew that. And were kidding. Oh.

I met him in '98 at Cirque, not long after the opening of "O" at the Bellagio - gave him a tour of the backstage, introduced him to the cast and translated for him and some of the non-English speaking castmembers.....the man was quiet, kind, generous with his time and energy and SO funny......I'd have kept him if he hadn't had to leave LOL

*sigh* time to go listen to his greatest hits album - (hits & misses)
Thanks for the inspiration! :)

My pleasure, and you worked at Cirque? Utter wicked cool, what an experience! I'd love to hear some of your stories someday. P. Gabriel is one of my partner's favorites, and has an excellent rep, I'm not surprised to hear you had a good experience with him. Very nifty.

Yep Yep Yep, it's how I met my husband, actually - he's still with "O" as assistant bandleader/keyboard/sax/crumhorn player and general computer programmer for instrumental parts and such - I mostly worked as an assistant to the company management and did a fair bit of translating for folks and VIP meet-ups behind the scenes, taking celebrity types on tours, getting them to sign the big bad book for Cirque's owners and introducing them to cast and crew - I miss those days sometimes, but now with the kids it's MUCH better to get at least some sleep from time to time LOL

P. Gabriel's music has been showing up at the best times lately - always makes me smile - it was a brilliant treat whenever someone whose work I admired came in and was as kind as he was -
