As the Lovely Housemate who sent this commented, "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me." Ahem. Anyway, check this out:

Yum. Now, one of my other Lovely Housemates, [livejournal.com profile] lylythe_strega is a consummate scent-maker -- soaps, oils, salt scrubs, so we certainly don't lack for smelly things around the Casa (I heard that! ;>) But even if you smell just as you would already, this site is worth checking out, if for no other reason than it's a really nice site, and a lot of the art on the site is from Harry Clarke, one of my favourite Irish artists from the early part of the last century. He illustrated what is my very favorite version of Goethe's Faust ever -- elegant, morbid, and clever. He also did some amazing illustrations of Hans Andersen and Poe. There's some Beardsley in evidence again, too, another favorite.

Ooh, that would be lovely, then you could try them out and see if the actuality is as good as the descriptions make them sound...

Yeah, I have looked at getting the selection of little teeny bottles since EVERYONE seems to be buying on my flist (from US to Australia....) but if Miss Boss bought them I wouldn't ahve to pay for them....

[livejournal.com profile] chaoticerotic did a bunch of posts in her LJ reviewing those scents. The posts may be locked. You might want to ask her for her reviews.

Ahhh, BPAL has finally made it to YOUR neck of the woods. Now it's everywhere. :)

Their stuff is wonderful and unique. I've tried close to 100 of their perfumes by various means and there are at least that many more to try. Everyone has their own favorites. It's wonderful. And an interesting business model, too, one I'm too sleepy and busy to get into at the moment. But let's just say when one's products become a form of currency, one is doing well.

Currency? Sounds interesting...

Yes -- in part because there are so many scents, and in part because it can take 45-60 days to receive an order (everything is made fresh by hand), people swap the ones they don't like -- both the larger bottles and the sample-sized ones. So if you have a bunch of bottles, it's as good as having money, because you can trade them with other fans (both on the BPAL-sponsored forums and elsewhere), or even sell them and get money to order more from the lab. People also swap them for other things people like, including bath products from Lush, people's artwork, BPAL-related things like perfume boxes and "cozies," and so on... it would make a pretty interesting economic analysis.

Thanks for posting the link to your above mentioned site. I can't wait to check it out.

That might make a lovely coven craft project!

Sure thing. Indeed, "craft projects" are great! In the 10 years or so Dushraith coven was active, we used to joke, "we put the 'craft' back in 'witchcraft'." I absolutely love making things in ritual space.

(*full-body blush*) Shucks. :>

I intend to more fully peruse this site, yes...just looking at the oil section, I feel inspired to blend a few things. It's been a while since I've had the headspace to...feels good to have it back!
