There's a good interview in my local paper with writer Gregory Maguire, the author of "Wicked" and the sequel, "Son Of A Witch," who lives a couple of towns down the road. Writers, those who liked "Wicked," and those who enjoy fantasy books will probably like it -- it's here.

Because Gregory Maguire kicks ass and takes names. :-)

Thanks for that! I love his books. I just read "Mirror Mirror", preparing for our Snow White theme next year, and loaned "Wicked" to a friend who was going to see the play. She was a bit taken aback and then delighted with the unexpected sex parts in the book!! Apparently the threesomes are not part of the play. Hmm.

lol. They always take out the good bits, I swear...

I haven't run into him yet, but I'm figuring we might cross paths at one of the writer's events out here somewhere along the line. It turns out there's a whole flock of writers, artists and musicians in this area, perhaps due to the influence of the Cornish Artist Colony folks (Augustus Saint Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, etc) back around the turn of the century.
