Actually, I'm putting in one of these (http://www.sun-mar.com/products/ExcelACDC.php) today, in the tack room in the barn. We've got a bunch of people camping up at the barn for the Feri weekends, and while it's got hand-pump water and electric (and a phone, even, a real Hilton of a barn...), there's no bathroom. The last time we rented a porta-John, but I really hate to do that, all those nasty chemicals, etc. And digging a new septic up there is right out, cost-wise. And some of the folk coming in were apparently squeamish about using a home-grown (bucket) humanure system. So I figured I wanted a toilet up there anyway, and we're going to have more and more people staying up there for events (converting a couple of the stalls into dorm space, etc), so it was a good excuse to put in something that can handle a fair number of people and will be good for the land. And it's also an emergency backup in case someday the septic system craps out (as it were). The model I got is AC/DC, can work off electric, DC (battery or solar), or can be used non-powered if necessary.
