Tejas Samhain Camp
Sep. 13th, 2005 07:57 pmDear Friends of Tejas Web, near and far:
We are very excited about Dancing with Dionysus at our upcoming Samhain
Witch Camp, October 22-29, 2005, in the Texas Hill Country. We will explore
light and shadow, will and desire, beauty and ecstasy. We will offer
marvellous paths, including a ground-breaking teen path, with a stellar
teaching team. We will welcome old and new friends to this week between the
worlds on the banks of the beautiful Guadalupe River.
BUT WE ARE ALSO CONCERNED.
Our registration to date is low, running behind our projections and hopes.
Our venue costs jumped dramatically this year, without warning, when it was
too late to change venue. In order to make it affordable for families, we
are offering sharply reduced registration rates for teens. We began
planning this year's Camp with a healthy scholarship fund balance, thanks
to the abundant generosity of last year's Camp attendees, but that fund is
now almost exhausted.
The organizing cell is looking carefully at income and expense, and is
considering all our options. We currently project a loss that would be
difficult for our Camp to sustain, and that must be offset by more
registrations or donations.
We know that things are financially tough and getting tougher, and many of
us have to make hard choices. Our hope and intention is to offer Samhain
Camp 2005 as it has been lovingly visioned by organizers, teachers, and the
Tejas community, and *YOU* are part of that vision.
If you have been thinking about attending Samhain Camp, please register
now; registration information and a printable form are on the web at
http://www.witchcamp.tejasweb.org.
If you cannot attend, but have been to Camp, or hope to come to Camp in the
future, or if anything you've heard or read about Samhain Camp has ever
called to you, please consider sending what you can afford towards helping
this vision manifest.
Your contributions to Tejas Web over and above the registration fee are tax
deductible. Know that you are helping to change the world through your
donations.
Please register and/or send whatever amount you can to:
