Firefly fun
Aug. 15th, 2005 01:38 pmHaving gotten 1/2 way through the DVD collection of Firefly episodes, I continue to be impressed, delighted, even mesmerized on occasion, by the quality of the writing, and the acting. The writing particularly. No, I'm not quite a fanboy, but I do like, a whole lot. And as an extra bonus, after watching the end of one of the episodes night before last, my partner screamed, "wait! stop!" and we rolled back the credits, and found she'd caught that one of the bit parts (but a speaking part, nonetheless) was a good friend of her family's whom we both know. Going back through the episode again, we recognized him instantly. Too funny.

Date: 2005-08-15 09:13 pm (UTC)The person we saw is Bob Fimiani, an old family friend who used to work for my father-in-law. I knew he'd done some work with Joss, but hadn't known he was in Firefly:
Bob Fimiani played Mr. Ward, the head of the Initiative in The Yoko Factor and Primeval who ordered the Initiative to be closed down and the earth salted over. Bob also played ‘Grounds Keeper’ in the Angel episode ‘The Prodigal’ and ‘Codger Demon’ in the Angel episode ‘Heartthrob’. He played ‘Elder Gamman’ in Joss Whedon’s show Firefly, in the episode ‘Our Mrs. Reynolds’.
