I had to miss this last night, but I really wish I'd been able to catch it: The Exorcism of a Racist Film.

His next project is a re-edit of "Triumph of the Will."

I adore guerrilla ritual. And turning propaganda on its head is always, always sweet.

". . .Activate your love spells
Synchronize and reverse your hells
Agitate your alligator brains
Rip into the heart of the pain
In your televisionary dreams
Your imagination's always free
To turn the spirit of the television
inside out
This is what it is all about

Television television
Televisionary television

Love song for my little terrorist
The way you look at me
is like a deathly kiss
Every time I see myself in you
I remember why I created you
Relax Be brave
Take back the airwaves..."

This is SO COOL.

Guerilla ritual, guerilla storytelling.

Right on.

Kira, can't help it, I'ma quote junky ;> You can blame Thorn for turning me onto World Entertainment War, a delightfully subversive band with some wicked lyrics (or they used to be, unsure whether they're still together now)

Erskine, get some coffee ;>

Crow, one of my favorite things is sneaking up on people through popular culture. Things like Buffy, the Practical Magick book and movie, and expecially the Harry Potter books, while I'm not a huge fan myself (or rather, I'm sure they're delightful, but they just never seem to make it to the top of my reading list), gave me a lot of hope for the future. Planting subversively healthy memes in fertile minds is sacred work, and desperately needed. We are outspent by corporate advertising about a billion to one, so we just have to be about a billion times more inventive, creative, subversive and trixy. No problem.

All Hail the Buffy Goodness!

In the line of subversive activities, I am wondering whether or not the studio is going to fuck up the first His Dark Materials movie. I sincerely hope not. Because the wide world needs more Philip Pullman.

They're doing a *Dark Materials* movie??!!!! *bouncebouncebounce* wheeeeee!

Oh my goodness, how did I not hear about this one?! I do hope they do it justice, there have been so many disappointing movie/miniseries adaptations recently...

Well, hi there, welcome! Good to see ya, and in a thread where you were mentioned, no less-- invocation? ;-) I just got active on LJ fairly recently, and I've been enjoying reading your posts.

I wish I could have seen it, and if he does come through here with "Triumph of the Will," I'm not going to miss it if I can possibly help it.

Been meaning to check in with you about the April class, will send you a quick email soon.
