Atlas reveals global devastation

Trying to retain hope, and optimism. Actions, choices, consequences. And the sure knowledge that all cycles end, all trends reverse, all destruction and collapse makes room for future possibility. And that each and every choice we make does make a difference, whether we know it or not.

We can learn, we can change, we can evolve. But can we learn in time?

Yeah, saw that. Pretty freakin' scary. Yeah, I know people have been warning of TEOTWAWKI since the invention of fire, but still... =:-0

Wonder how long (measured in minutes, no doubt) before the administration begins the smear campaign against this info.

From the article: "These illustrate some of the changes we have made to our environment," Zahedi said. "This is a visual tool to capture people's imaginations showing what is really happening."

"It serves as an early warning," he added.

I just hope it's early enough. Or that people listen. *sigh*

I figure just about as long as it takes them to find one crackpot with a "science" degree from Bob Jones University that they can pay to say everything is just hunky-dorey, so then they can claim that TEOTWAWKI is just "one theory among many, and the scientific community is still divided and...HEY! Is that OSAMA BIN LADEN?!!!"

I am almost convinced that is why we are hearing about people suffering from chronic diseases at younger and younger ages in this country. Nature has determined that we are a threat, and she wants to kill as many of us as she possibly can.

I am jaded enough not to be bothered, as I have an excellent immune system and long life runs in my family and that of my husband. But then, having heard about the Apocalypse for years - only to find out the damned thing happend 2,000 years ago - kind of makes one blase about the whole subject.
