I have never been able to see peeps as something edible. However, I've found that one peep + toothpicks + red food coloring = a more than passable St. Sebastian impersonation

I made the mistake of showing my son once what happens when you put a Peep in the microwave oven, and now every time we get Peeps in the house, he asks. And asks. And asks. *sigh* Well, okay, we'll explode a Peep...

Some time when you are over perhaps I will make the Melon Moose drink. Think bright green, served in a tall bud vase, capped with a flaming Peep. Oh, the humanity! Just goes to show, good presentation (and good drama) is just as important as good ingredients...

Um, well, er...it's a fair cop. Which reminds me, lylythe_strega bought me a pack of green Peeps for St. Paddy's, maybe tonight, one of them will make my son a very happy boy (it's worth cleaning up the microwave after) ;>

Peeps definitely run scared around this house...

speaking of fun with food, the icon here is of a party favor I mixed up for one of our (in)famous parties back in Maryland, New Years Eve 2000 I think. Start with a (clean, UNUSED!) litterbox, fill with Grape Nuts and granola, add some malted milk balls, some raisins, carefully twisted-up Tootsie Rolls...you get the idea.
