I swear, the worse the whole experience of travelling by air gets, and the more serious I get about reducing my carbon output, and the more rooted in my land I get, the less I want to go anywhere by plane. This time, after an overnight redeye spent trying to sleep in my tiny torture-box of a "seat,"(which they will cleverly let you upgrade to an actual human-sized seat...for a substantial fee), my connecting flight in D.C. was unceremoniously cancelled, I had to rush to hop a cab from Dulles to National (about an hour) to get a shuttle flight out on a different airline, and now that flight has been delayed. Grrr. And I've got an all-day rehearsal to make it to (thus the redeye)...

Bitch, moan, whine. Harumph. The trip itself was lovely -- got some good work done, had delightful visit time with yezida, and I got to have a very special visit with Cora....but it will be SO good to be home.

Odd...I still love flying and hate the thought of being stuck anywhere. I would be very sad If I ever had to lose that.

(Of course, I also really dislike where I currently live, but I always want to move....!)
