Snarfed from [livejournal.com profile] sgreer. Hmm, interesting. Not at all what I expected:

LOVERS
LOVERS
"the synthesizer of dualities, polarities,
and opposites"

You have extraordinary gifts working with people of
all ages. You can access your deep
understanding, application, and synthetical
abilities dealing with the concept of paradox,
polarity, and opposition. Relationships are an
important focal point for personal growth and
development-- you need to feel things changing
in a relationship. You have the ability to do
multi-level thinking. You have great insite
and perception of what is going on with people.

Oh, I dunno...a lot of the description aligns with you. What were you expecting, out of curiousity?

That's absolutely what I would've expected of you, and fits. What were you expecting, instead?

Well, when I wrote that, I hadn't noted that this particular quiz doesn't include the full major arcana, only 12 of 'em. So, given that, and also after some more thought about it, it doesn't seem all that surprising, but I might have also expected Art/Temperance...

Not a fighter? Heh. But it is true, all things being equal, I'd rather not. Anyhow, it's funny, I really don't think of myself as a "people person." I'm the introvert artist, remember? I've always seen myself as more defined by my skills, by what I know and do and build and create, than by how I relate to others. I've never seem myself as particularly good with people skills. So it made me think, to see something come up which centers largely around people and relationships. But...yeah, okay, I can see that. I look back, and so much of what I've done over the years has been about building spaces for people to share themselves with each other, about community-building in one way or another. And that's still true today.

And the parts about paradox, polarity and opposition are definitely key to my work. Paradoxes are sacred to me, an indicator of places of power and potential. In a metaphysically mystical, but very real way, I see paradox as the essential engine, the ultimate power source of the universe. Ånd the third-road approach of holding greater and greater paradox within oneself has been a big part of my own path. But I digress ;>

Those of us who know you best, Chel, are aware that you're an introvert who's good at faking that he's otherwise... ;>

Out of curiousity, how have the permutations of the Lovers shown up in your life? I know that everyone's personal mileages vary on Tarot interpretation, but I'm a Tarot geek, so I hadta ask.

By the way, my life card is the 6 of Pentacles. Generosity, and the ability to give willingly without ever depleting yourself. In some ways, I'm still working on this one... ;>

The permutations have shown up in all my relationships, in the general difficulty I have in any and/or all of them, in just learning to *be* in relationship as a whole human being rather than hiding behind my own stories of who I am or projecting images of who I am.

I have been at heart a pretty solitary person for most of my life, spiraling deeper with every turn of the wheel into being a less solitary person. And I have a Scorpio moon like nobody's business.

That may be a more general answer than you asked for?

Not all at...a life card implies "a work in progress". Specificity (is that a word?) isn't easy, or indeed necessary, when discussing works in progress, in my opinion, anyway. Thanks for sharing!

Heh. Sister! My Soul Card is the Hermit, which I sort of expected to see here, it comes up a lot for me in a variety of contexts -- for instance, the previous 10-year incarnation of the Casa Chaos group house was on Hermitage Avenue, natch... And it makes sense for me, the balancing of inner and outer work. I swear there are days, weeks, months, years, when all I want to do is head back into my cave... ;>

An occasional glance day in the sun with nothing but blue sky over your head is a good thing, too, y'know... :>
