Fey Kid With Bad Hair, Film At 11

So much to write...I'm in a bit of a calm before the storm, a week and a half or so until my partner's thyroidectomy, so perhaps I'll take some time this weekend to post a bit of the last couple of weeks.

In the meantime, today was "Bad Hair Friday" at my son's school. He let me know about it with 15 minutes to go until I had to walk him out to catch his bus, but I grabbed some gel and green stuff and did the best I could in the time I had. It's nowhere near as good as lylythe_strega's hair job a year ago, but it was a respectible effort at least. Gosh, looking back a year, so much has changed...and so much has not.

Oh, yes. Much to the delight of my ravishing partner, I shaved off the beard earlier this month in celebration of Spring (we're pretty darn close, even here -- the big stream melt is done, almost all of the snow and ice is gone, and the birds are coming back in full force). So I went from this to this, with a few minutes of this somewhere in between ;>

Heh. You're very right. It's funny -- sometimes he looks (and acts) so much like me that C complains that she wasn't able to slip any of here genes in there, and sometimes he just looks like her spitting image. I hope he gets the best of both sides, of course ;>

I remember thinking rather fuzzily (pre-coffee, just having been awakened by Chel who was looking for hair-gooping and coloring stuff) that I couldn't believe it had been a year since the last time we'd done this to the kid. ;>
