I'll be out of town most of the weekend, doing a series of very belated holiday/anniversary/birthday outings and visits with family, but I wanted to post this here afore I go. For those of you who know our Once and Future Lovely Housemate Angelica, who's been living with us (again) for some months now, she just signed the contract on a beautful little post-and-beam house within bicycling distance of our place. Buying this place is a fulfillment of a long-time dream of hers, and she's been living with us while saving up money and waiting for the right place to come along. For those who don't know Angelica, she's amazing, one of the strongest people I know, despite (or perhaps because) of having lived through one of the harshest lives of anyone I've met, any one piece of which would have knocked out someone with even a whit less passion for life and sheer force of will. She's a fighter -- she's had to be, and she very, very much deserves this.

The house even comes with a moose! (or at least, the current owner has a picture of a moose that wandered through last year...)

And the place is just perfect for her -- all open-beam, very rustic and woodsy, very private. Plenty of room for cats, too!
