Very strange. Got the cover piece back from the senior editor, who is a real pro. I'm not used to having hard-nosed editors gush at me, especially when I'm late with copy. I expected some not-so-subtle admonishments about deadlines, and instead I get effusive praise, and, "Why is it that you don't write for me more often?!!" A very nice way to start the weekend.

Honey, you sounded like one stressed-out pup when I spoke briefly with you. What I'd say is it's time to take your own advice. Enjoy life more, because, dammit, it is over soooooo quickly. Before you know it, nay, before you are even ready for it, your sweet and loving son will be grown up and you will miss every moment that you didn't spend with him......
Take it from someone who is *very* guilty of not enjoying where I was when the kids were small.

So, turn off the computer, go forth on this Sunday morning, and fill the rest of this weekend with unexpected delights and happy surprises!!!! That is my prescription for you. And you should trust me! I play a doctor every day!!!

I did take part of today off, which strictly speaking, I shoudn't have done. That means tomorrow is going to be more than somewhat hellish, but either way, from mid-week on, after all pending copy is safely in the hands of various surly editors (who have been bending over backwards for me lately, I must say...), I should be back to a less stressful schedule. The prior few weeks...well, all of December and January so far, were wildly busy, even by my schedule. Looks like a slower pace ahead, which I very much need...and so does F, and C, and everyone else for that matter!

So you might be coming up this way for residency, I hear, perhaps??? I shall fervently wish it to be so. A Feri doc at the Casa? What an amazing concept! :>
